The Newside Residential Complex in Ahvaz is one of the integrated projects of landscape design, urban walls, and villa buildings by Naqsh-e-Honar-e-Taqaron. It pays special attention to the principles of sustainable design, and factors of sustainability and climatic design can be seen in the network of streets, block layout, floor plans, and execution details and materials.

In the design of façade walls and urban walls, materials suitable for the warm and humid climate, as well as indigenous materials such as wood and brick, have been used. Some walls are also designed with latticed forms, inspired by the concept of a sunshade, to allow air to flow freely in the spaces. Additionally, sunshades have been designed alongside the walls to create shade and prevent direct sunlight from shining on the walls. Furthermore, the compilation of construction regulations and guidelines, as well as the development of settlement regulations and naming the neighborhood “Shahrak-e-Aramesh” (Peaceful Neighborhood), are among the achievements of these consulting engineers in this project.
